Step 2: Determine the service you need
- Re-sand/Repair Hardwood Flooring (If your flooring is damaged, deeply scratched or discolored, or if you want to change the color of your flooring in some way you will likely need a re-sand. Proceed to section A under step 3 of the form)
- Buff-n-Coat Hardwood Flooring (If you are happy with the look of your floor but would like to get rid of the scratches, improve or change the sheen, and add another layer of protection to avoid costly re-sanding, a Buff-n-Coat would be a great idea. Proceed to section B under step 3 of the form)
- Install Hardwood flooring (Proceed to section C under step 3 of the form)
- Install, Re-sand or Re-coat Stair Treads, Risers, and landings (Proceed to section D under step 3 of the form)
Step 3: Fill out the appropriate section(s) of the form.
Section A: Re-sand/Repair Hardwood Flooring
What year was your home built?
What rooms would you like to have refinished?
Do you have basic dimensions (length x width) of the rooms? Please do not send plans of the home.
Are floors exposed or under carpet or other flooring products that need to be removed?
What color is the finish on the floor? Yellowish? Orange/Amber? Brown?
Generally speaking, do you know what color you would like the floor to be?
Are there areas that may require patching due to things such as dark stains with defined edges, boards missing, existing patches of plywood etc.?
Are there radiators and if so do they have covers or do you intend to cover them?
When was the last time work was done on the floor and what was it?
Section B: Buff-n-Coat Hardwood Flooring
Do you have areas of your floor that look discolored, especially in high traffic areas or where chairs slide around on the floor?
When was the last time any work was done on your floor and what was it?
Did you recently remove carpet or any other product?
What cleaning products have been used on the floor?
Section C: Install Hardwood Flooring
What area(s) of the home would you like to have installed?
What year was your home built?
Do you know the dimensions of the rooms?
What type of flooring is currently in the area(s) to be installed?
Do you know what type of wood you want installed? Do you know if you would like prefinished flooring or flooring that is sanded and finished on site? Have you seen samples? If so, what were they and where did you view them? Do you want a lighter look or a med to darker look for the wood floors?
Section D: Install, Re-sand, or Re-coat Stair Treads Risers and Landings
Do you want to re-sand, re-coat, or replace your staircase? What color are you looking for? Light? Medium? Dark?
Do you want to do only the treads (the part you step on) or would you also like to do the risers (the vertical portion)? How many of each are there? Are there landings, and if so, how many?
Are your stairs currently under carpet or any other product?
Do the stairs have spindles (railings) that contact the the treads? If so, how many?
Are your stairs wall to wall, or are they open on one or both sides?
